Colder weather is on the way according to the forecasters, so may be time to break out the winter warmers. At least here in Japan we can be thankful we escaped the ravages of the typhoon that swept the Philippines over the weekend leaving over 10,000 dead according to reports.

The weather forecasters were right. The temperature dipped suddenly yesterday here in Tokyo, around the same time that we had that sudden downpour. Oh well, looks like winter really is on the way now.

The unseasonably cold weather continues. Aomori ken has seen its earliest snowfall in over thirty years, and the temperature is under ten degrees again here this morning in Tokyo.

Greyer skies today as the weekend approaches with rain setting in this afternoon. This week has certainly heralded the onset of winter. I wonder if the weather forecasters prediction of a bitterly cold winter will prove to be correct….
